Most math instruction works for some students and leaves others behind. Maker Math is built for the kids who get left behind. Every session is one on one with a teacher who has been trained in dyscalculia, dyslexia, and ADHD support. Sessions run two times a week, in person at our centers in Camp Hill PA and Avon NC, or online from anywhere in the country.
When students build the tool, they build the understanding.
A triangle on a worksheet is just a shape. A 3D printed triangle with three removable sides that snap together to form a straight line is something a student can hold, take apart, and feel. They learn that the angles always add to 180 degrees because they have proven it themselves.
Maker Math students help design and print the manipulatives they use. They pick up CAD, engineering thinking, and 3D printing along the way. The math is still the point, but it is not the only thing they take home.
Maker Math is for kids who learn differently.
If your child is bright, curious, and falling behind in math, the issue is rarely the kid. It is usually the tools they have been given. Maker Math is built specifically for students who need a different approach.
Dyscalculia.
A learning difference that affects number sense and math reasoning. Hands on tools rebuild the foundations that worksheets cannot reach.
Dyslexia.
Many students with dyslexia also struggle with math, even when reading is the more visible challenge. Multisensory teaching helps both.
ADHD.
Sessions are short, hands on, and built around movement and engagement. Students stay with the work because the work is interesting.
